This stropping belt in size L has a total length (including brackets) of 54 cm, a belt length of 46.5 cm and an effective leather surface of 38.5 x 5 cm. This shaving belt is made of Jute leather and has a natural canvas backing. Jute Leather is a leather variety made from young calf or cow hide of Russian origin. Jute Leather is richly treated with birch tar oil, making it a particularly strong and supple leather variety.
The leather part of the shaving belt should be regularly maintained with the yellow shaving belt paste for optimal suppleness and water resistance. The canvas side should be treated with the white shaving-belt paste annually. This prevents burning of the canvas due to the repetitive fast movement of the razor over the canvas. During production, this operation has already been carried out by the manufacturer.
If necessary, the belt can also be subtly polished with 'a little' polishing paste. We recommend the use of a tensioning belt for this polishing operation.
